Library Cards and Circulation Information

Unger Memorial Library offers a full-service library card for citizens of Plainview and greater Hale County.  This card enables you to check out books, CDs, and DVDs and also allows you access to e-books, streaming audiobooks, and databases.

To obtain a library card, you must apply and show proof of identification and address.  To obtain your card immediately, you must have two forms of ID.  You may use your library card as soon as you receive it.

1. A picture ID such as a driver's license or state-issued ID card.  Other picture IDs may be appropriate with the approval of the Director.
2. The second form of ID should be something that shows your current address such as a utility bill, a bank statement, etc. 

If you do not have a second form of ID the card will instead be mailed to your address and you may use it after receipt.

You may apply for your card in person at the library or you may use the online form below (see tab to the left).  After the online application has been approved you may pick up your card the next time you are in the library or you may ask to have it mailed to you.
