About the Anthony Awards

The Anthony Awards are named for Anthony Boucher, one of the founders of the Mystery Writers of America.  Among the most prestigious awards in the world of mystery writers, the Anthony Awards have helped boost the career of many recipients.

Over the years some categories have been added while others have been discarded.  Generally this list will include only monographic print awards, with the sole exception being audiobooks when that category is introduced, beginning in 2014.  Not included will be categories such as best magazine, best cover art, best publisher, best editor, and best short story.  Some categories come and go, such as the Best Paperback Original Award.  Categories found in all years will be best novel, best first novel, and best critical work.

For additional information please see the official Anthony Awards.  It includes pages listing all categories for each year (minus lifetime achievement) as well as the winners and nominees in each category.  The main site is found at http://www.bouchercon.com/.

Wikipedia also has a page that lists the lifetime achievement awards as well as the winners (no nominees) in each category by year.  It can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Awards
